Finance Assistant
Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organisation by assisting with various accounting and administrative tasks. Responsibilities
- Daily posting of cash receipts to accounting software – Merlin
- Customer accounts administration – opening new delivery addresses and other ad hoc admin tasks
- Uploading sales invoices to customers’ procurement portals
- Assisting with Credit Control across the whole sales ledger. This includes contacting customers by telephone, email, procurement portals and statements to obtain payment.
- Taking card payments over the telephone.
- Reconciling customer accounts, obtaining remittance advices and allocating unallocated receipts.
- Production of customer statements inlcuding bespoke statements in the format required by certain customers.
- Obtaining proof of delivery from FEDEX.
- Providing copy invoices.
- Assistance with the purchase ledger including posting purchase invoices and reconciling statements.
- Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and responding to queries.
Experience
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting role is advantageous but not essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills are a must.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating effective communication skills.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm with one hour for lunch.
The company offers 25 days holiday increasing by one day per year after 5 years service up to a maximum of 30 days.
All staff receive membership of hte Sovereign Healthcare Cash Plan and are automatically enrolled into the pension scheme. Staff are included in the Group Life Insurance Plan.
Salary is £24k
