Production Assistant

Our client, based in Rotherham, has been manufacturing professional audio equipment for recording studios since 1983. They have a global customer base, and a reputation for quality, handmade products at affordable prices.

They products ship all over the world, so need to be built to the right quality, and because the units are mains powered, build quality must meet specific electrical standards.

We are looking for Production Assistant to join great team. Whilst previous experience of electronic component soldering is useful, it isn’t essential as full training is given.

The role includes:

– Manually inserting components into boards (PCBs)

– Soldering the components into place to the required standard

– Producing cable assemblies for signal and mains level functions

– Assembling boards into metalwork enclosures ready for final test

The role is best suited to someone with an interest in hobbies & crafts that require fine motor skills, and are confident, and competent, in handling hand tools (cutters, pliers, screwdrivers etc) & small power tools.

At different times during the month, we may also require production staff to help out in the warehouse, preparing & packing completed units for shipping.

We work in an informal, relaxed environment, and don’t set production quantity targets. Quality is key!

Starting Wage: National Minimum Wage. This will be reviewed at 6 months, and 12 months.

Under 21s have the opportunity to move to the full rate if they meet the required standards, again to be reviewed at 6 months, and 12 months

20 days paid holiday, plus statutory public holidays

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, (between 7am & 4.30pm, Monday to Friday)

Pay: £8.60-£11.44 per hour
